Vessel Safety
Our vessels are fitted with the very latest safety equipment and all of our crew members are fully trained and qualified to meet the requirements of Marine Safety Regulations. CCTV is onboard for passenger, crew and vessels safety.
Wheelchairs & Disabilities
The Forth Belle and Queensferry Belle have a special wheelchair ramp which can be used at certain tide heights. The wheelchair ramp is only suitable for standard wheelchair access. For other types of wheelchairs please give us a call.
The wheelchair ramp accesses the rear deck and outside seating only. This is the only area of the Forth Belle or Queensferry Belle accessible to wheelchairs. Certain tide heights allow easier access to the boat (not as steep an incline on the gangway). They are safer and more comfortable for wheelchair users. Please check our timetable for the wheelchair symbol for suitable days and times for when we can use the wheelchair ramp.
Access to Inchcolm Island is not suitable for wheelchair users or those customers with mobility issues.
Disabled Toilets – There are no disabled toilets on our vessels, although people with limited mobility do use the toilets on board.
Disabled Parking -There is limited disabled parking at Hawes Pier and Port Edgar Marina. Forth Boat Tours is not responsible for parking at these locations.
Registered Carers
Forth Boat Tours operates one Registered Carer free with every full paying disabled adult/concession/child (aged 5 to 15) who book directly with Forth Boat Tours. We will ask for proof of carer identification and disability registration. We recognise that some disabled visitors may need help to visit our sites and we offer free entry for accompanying carers, these can be added after making your booking for the full paying passenger by emailing info@forthtours.com with your booking reference. Anyone wishing to join us as a carer will be required to bring their carer registration or identification and one of the below items of documentation.
- Attendance allowance or Carer’s Allowance letter of award
- One Scotland Card or Plus One Card
- Access card (sometimes referred to as the Credibility Card or a Nimbus Card)
Hidden Disabilities
Forth Boat Tours welcome customers with all disabilities. We try to accommodate those customers with hidden disabilities as much as we can however; our vessels are a very popular visitor attraction that can get very busy and noisy without our being able to predict when this will happen. We advise any customer with sensory needs to bring the relevant aids to allow them to enjoy the tour.
