As you prepare for your adventure, we understand that you may have some questions and concerns. That’s why we have created this Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page to address any queries you may have.

Do I need to book?

To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to book ahead. Click here to book your cruise.

When can I cruise with Forth Boat Tours?

We sail all year round with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve.

Do children go free?

Little seal spotters under the age of 5 go free. We have reduced price tickets for children from 5 -15 years old.

Can I get something to eat on board?

We serve a selection of hot and cold drinks, light snacks and a wee dram and other spirits from our bar. But please, do not feed the crew!

Do you have toilets on board?

Yes, you’ll never get caught short!

Do your boats have wheelchair access?

Our fleet is not specifically designed for disabled access; however, a lot of wheelchair users and people with limited mobility do join us on board for our 90 minute sightseeing tours.

There is disabled parking at the promenade, close to the Hawes Pier (approximately 100m from the boat).

We have a wheelchair ramp which can be used at certain tide heights. Please give us prior notice if you require the wheelchair ramp.

The wheelchair ramp accesses the rear deck and entrance to the covered salon.  This is the only area of the Forth Belle accessible to wheelchairs.

There is no disabled toilet, although people with limited mobility do use the toilets on board.

Certain tide heights allow easier access to the boat (not as steep an incline on the gangway). They are safer and more comfortable for wheelchair users. Please check our timetable for the days and times when we can use the wheelchair ramp.

Access to Inchcolm Island is not suitable for wheelchair users.

We recognise that some disabled visitors may need help to visit our sites and we offer free entry for accompanying carers, these can be added when making your booking. Anyone wishing to join us as a carer will be required to bring one of the below items of documentation and will be asked to show up before boarding.

What proof is required from a carer?
Plus One card
Attendance allowance or Carer’s Allowance letter of award
One Scotland Card
Social Services Blue Badge
Access card (sometimes referred to as the Credibility Card or a Nimbus Card)
If you do not see your proof listed, please call us on 0131 331 3030 and speak with a member of our team. We are always happy to help.

Are pets allowed on board?

Your furry friends are allowed on board. A charge of £1 per pet applies.
