Seasonal Team Members – careers
The role of Seasonal Team Member is mixed and varied and will include:
- Bar/Crew on board our vessels
- Office Cover
- Working in our Ticket Kiosk
We are looking for team members who are dynamic, passionate about customer service, and have a proactive can-do approach.
Relevant careers training will be provided, and the successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive induction programme. You must have the right to work in the UK and please also note that this role can be physically demanding. Applicants should also recognise that working on board the vessel or in our kiosk will require them to work outside in all weathers.
Key Responsibilities
– Promoting a positive image of Forth Boat Tours to our many customers and visitors
– Monitoring and ensuring passenger safety at the quayside and on board
– Meeting passengers on the quayside and collecting boarding cards
– Cleaning the boat in preparation for service
– Serve customers drinks, refreshments, food, and snacks from the onboard café / bar
– Stock taking
– Processing landing fees
– Counting and recording passenger numbers as they board and disembark
– Participate in training exercises and drills on board our vessels
– Complete internal and external training as required by Forth Boat Tours
– Working in our ticket kiosk – taking cash and card payments and providing information about our tours
– Office tasks as directed
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
– Experience of customer facing roles
– Experience of working independently and as part of a team
– Ability to communicate in English
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes – Word, Excel, Outlook etc
– Flexibility – ability to adapt and be flexible in approach to work
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills using English
– Inspiring, dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic, must enjoy working with people and be customer focused
– A supportive and enthusiastic approach to working with staff and customers
– Ability to work with people with diverse skills, abilities, and experience
– Ability to promote issues of equality and diversity
– Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
Desirable
– Holds a full UK driving licence
