Information for disabled passengers
The Forth Princess is not specifically designed for disabled access; however, a lot of wheelchair users and people with limited mobility do join us on board for our 90 minute sightseeing tours.
There is disabled parking at the promenade, close to the Hawes Pier (approximately 100m from the boat).
We have a special wheelchair ramp which can be used at certain tide heights. Please give us prior notice if you require the wheelchair ramp.
The wheelchair ramp accesses the rear deck and entrance to the covered salon. This is the only area of the Forth Princess accessible to wheelchairs.
There is no disabled toilet, although people with limited mobility do use the toilets on board.
Certain tide heights allow easier access to the boat (not as steep an incline on the gangway). They are safer and more comfortable for wheelchair users. Please check our timetable for disabled users which gives the days and times when we can use the wheelchair ramp.
Access to Inchcolm Island is not suitable for wheelchair users.
All sailings depart from Hawes Pier, South Queensferry unless otherwise stated in our timetable. Buses depart from Waverley Bridge, Edinburgh or unless otherwise stated in our timetable.
All tours and cruises are subject to weather conditions at the time of sailing. In the event of bad weather please telephone our information line on 0131 331 3030 for details and revisions to published sailing times.
Three Bridges and Three Bridges & Inchcolm Island Sightseeing and Sunset Cruises: Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Blackness Castle, Three Bridges Cruise (including complimentary cream tea): children under 5 and dogs are not permitted on this cruise. Discounts including money off vouchers may not be used in conjunction with any other Forth Boat Tours offer or promotion. Only one discount is offered per-person/ticket. 2 for 1 discount ticket offers apply to our 1-hour Sightseeing Cruises and are not exchangeable for cash.
Pre-booking is essential for all evening Dance Cruise events and optional coach transport and buffet meals.
Reservations will only be confirmed on receipt of full payment. Forth Boat Tours reserves the right to cancel any cruise where the minimum number of passengers is not reached. Sightseeing tours and Sunset cruises run regardless of passenger numbers, however, our evening dance cruise and special events require a minimum of 30 passengers. In such cases where there are insufficient passenger numbers, Forth Boat Tours‘ liability to the Customer is the full return of monies paid for the cruise.
Where the Customer cancels a reservation, refunds will be given under the following conditions:
Sightseeing Tours & Sunset Cruise
- If notice of cancellation is given more than 48 hrs before departure: Full refund.
- If notice of cancellation is given less than 48 hrs before departure: No refund.
Evening dance cruises and special events
- If notice of cancellation is given more than 14 days before departure: Full refund.
- If notice of cancellation is given less than 14 days before departure: No refund.
No refunds are offered on any boat trips if the passenger is late or unable to find the departure points.
Forth Boat Tours maintain insurance meeting all statutory requirements, however, we strongly recommend that passengers hold comprehensive and suitable travel, medical and cancellation insurance.
Forth Boat Tours reserves the right to alter cruise itineraries due to weather conditions or other such extenuating circumstances.
Our published prices on the website and in our brochures are valid from 1st April 2008. The new prices are updated accordingly within our online booking system for advance booking.
A deposit is required for use of onboard binoculars. Buffet meals, bar refreshments and landing tickets for Inchcolm Island are optional extras and are charged at travellers’ own expense.
